Monetary Donations
Please join American Baptists in supporting the relief efforts directed toward those affected by the recent hurricanes and their aftermath. One hundred percent of designated OGHS gifts are allocated to domestic disaster relief.
You can donate via your church or directly online.

Checks designated to OGHS–Hurricane Helene should be mailed to ABHMS’ Office of Development care of Kim Wilkins, 1075 First Avenue, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania 19406. If intended, donor checks should also include the name of the donor’s church and the name “Helene” in the memo section of the check to ensure that the church receives credit for the gift.

Everyday ABC Conversations
Join us for an Everyday ABC Conversation!
American Baptist Churches USA is happy to create space for the “Everyday ABC Conversations,” a series of dialogues around topics of interest. Each Everyday ABC Conversation begins with a presentation on the topic by two leaders associated with the subject area, followed by a time of of small group conversation in randomly assigned breakout rooms of up to 5-6 persons each. A typical discussion question might be, “What are the implications of what you have just heard for you and your congregation?” with additional relevant discussion questions for each topic. The entire conversation, including presentation, lasts approximately one hour.

Rev. Dr. Valerie Andrews currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Eternal Life Missionary Baptist Church, a Liberian community of faith in Philadelphia. She also serves as program administrator for the Ministers Council of American Baptist Churches USA, and is serving as co-facilitator of the Engage program for the denomination, which will provide seminarians and pastors new to ABC an introduction to ABCUSA at the upcoming American Baptist Churches 2025 Biennial Mission Summit, July 3-6, 2025 in Omaha, Neb. Andrews previously served as a business manager of a 1500 + member congregation, and is the former program director of the Program for Urban Leaders and Pastors in Transition (PULPIT), a Thriving in Ministry initiative at Missio Seminary in Philadelphia.
Rev. Dr. Jeremy Myers is the lead pastor of First Baptist Church of Seymour, Ind., where he has served since 2017. He has over 20 years of ministry experience in the local church and not-for-profit work. He has a passion for helping emerging and existing generations learn to make space for each other and caring for the under-served and marginalized. He is also is serving as co-facilitator of the Engage program for the denomination, which will provide seminarians and pastors new to ABC an introduction to ABCUSA at the upcoming American Baptist Churches 2025 Biennial Mission Summit, July 3-6, 2025 in Omaha, Neb. He is a passionate and gifted communicator and is regularly invited to speak at retreats, camps, conferences, and other events.

First Calvary Baptist Church, Durham NC
Seeking a Senior Associate Minister of Discipleship & Connections.
​
The Senior Associate Minister of Discipleship and Connections’ primary objective is to critically focus on the internal growth, development, and systems that lead to discipleship multiplication. This person must be a high-capacity leader, as they will lead the entire Christian Education experience, developing discipleship pathways for new and mature believers. This position will lead and oversee all key discipleship initiatives of our church, guest services, and other activities that ensure all people have a great first impression at First Calvary. This person should see themselves as a lead culture ambassador, empowering guests, and members to take their next step in faith. This person must have a passion for scripture, people, and leadership development.
Primary Responsibilities Discipleship – Making Disciples who love Jesus.
• Serve as lead visionary for ministries within Christian Education
• Create and facilitate “Culture Class”, a quarterly volunteer leadership training to equip volunteers for the work of ministry.
• Oversee Baptism, Right Hand of Fellowship, and support collaborative planning for churchwide programming. Connections – Cultivating Community
• Assist the Pastor in casting vision and implementing scalable systems to support discipleship pathways and outreach for new and mature believers.
• Design and own the process and systems that take people from visitor to disciple to leader.
• Create fresh and dynamic experiences for first-time guests and act as host in New Member Connection Events in partnership with staff, volunteers, and leaders.
• Build learning communities with curriculum and provide ongoing support all believers.
• Lead in the growth and development of staff and volunteers through trainings.
• Supervise direct reports under the umbrella of discipleship (youth, young adults, seniors, hospitality)
• Assist the Pastor in preaching, teaching, leading worship, and coaching as assigned.
• Create new systems of engagement with church management software.
• Solid stewardship with responsible budget planning and accountability.
• Actively support and engage the mission and vision of First Calvary Baptist Church.
• Serve as a lead strategiest for implementation of church’s strategic plan
Qualifications
• 3-5 years of experience in strategic planning, leading visions, discipleship development, and/or outreach campaigns.
• Teaching as primary gift.
• Ideal candidates possess both a theological degree and practical/relevant ministry-related experiences and education. • Strong oral and written communication skills; flexible leadership.
• Understand ministry operations & strategic planning.
• A passionate servant.
